Find Your Niche

To find your Niche a beginning web builder must understand what a Niche is. A Niche is a general topic of a market that you want to build a web site about. Then find a product or service that will be profitable for that selected market. Niche Content is a (Theme, Topic or Web Site Name.)

I recommend you take at least a week to make up your mind on the selection of finding Your Niche. It is one of the most important decision in building your web site. I suggest you brainstorm your Niche ideas and come up with a list of ten (10) possible Niches. These ideas should be something you know about, such as a skill. (Example: carpentry, computer work, mechanic and etc). These idea could be a hobby you like. (Example: gardening, blowing, golf, sewing and etc).

When selecting your Niche make your list something you enjoy doing. Believe me your passion will show when writing content. Out of your list of 10 ideas, weed out the ones that do not have a good market. Only consider the ones that have a strong selling market.

In selecting your Niche, make your Niche topics or Niche list very general. You will narrow or get more specific as your progress moves on. Let me give you an example of what I mean. If you wanted a site called Guitars. If you looked up guitar on Google, you would be competing with millions of sites. You want to narrow it down so you can be competitive. Example= guitar > guitar styles > electric guitar > gibson electric see what I mean, you could narrow it down more if you wanted.

Having selected two or three subject for your Niche, go to Google and check out the number of web sites you will be competing with. I recommend you try to stay under one million and over 250 thousand sites. I had rather be ranked high on the low in, than low on the high end.

I have some Niche Software that I recommend for the beginner below. They can be very helpful, especially if you are not sure what you are doing. Remember, finding a good Niche is the backbone of your site. If you do not get ranked, you make no money.

After finding your Niche, I suggest that you Get a Logo! . Your Logo will become a trade mark for your web site. Act like a professional web site. Put it on all your e-mails and mail-outs.
