Keyword Guide For Beginners

This is a Keyword Guide For Beginners. Beginning Web Site Builders not only need to know about Niches also about Keywords and Keyword Phrases (both have the same meaning) to make their site a success. There will be three parts in this page that a Beginning Webmaster MUST learn. Please do not skip this section of your Web Building. This is the section that gets the traffic to you. (Money)

Before we get into the three parts of my page I want everyone to know that I recommend SITE BUILD IT for anyone who is going to build a web site. The keyword tools that I am going to talk about is all given to you in their program, with their personal help. Just read the rest of this article and then see for yourself what they have to offer.

***What are Keywords and Keyword Phrases?
***What is the purpose of Keywords and Keyword Phrases?
***How do you select GOOD KEYWORDS or Phrases?

A. Keywords and Keyword Phrases if you remember are the same. Keyword is one word and Keyword Phrases are more than one word. So how are Keywords defined in the world of Internet. Keywords are simply, nothing more that a selected Word that is related to or about your Website Topic. Keywords are used to help categorizes your web pages. That is all Keywords are. Nothing more than a word or phrase to help someone find your website.

B. To determine the purpose of Keywords and Keyword Phrases, you must understand how searches are done on the internet. Searches are done by search engines. The three most popular engines are Google, Yahoo and MSN. Each has a search engine that send out (spiders)(bots) to web pages on the internet. When it gets to a web page, it scans the the content and sends the information back to its engines where the data is stored. When someone types in a topic to view, the engines will find the data they are searching for and route them to the topic page of Google, MSN and etc.

Lets take a look at what I mean. Type Keyword in Google and lets see how many web pages are listed. There are 538 million web pages with keyword as their topic. The top site is Google Adword. A beginning web builder can not compete with Google. Are you getting my drift. Start off with different Keywords that has less competition. Finding the right keyword or phrase is not an easy task. I could write a book on it. I suggest BRAINSTORM GENERATOR software for finding good keywords. Brainstorm Generator is cheaper than Word Tracker but excellent to start with. WORD TRACKER it is the best on the market. If you are serious try their free download trial first.

C. Next we have to select GOOD Keywords or Phrases. You need to have the software if you want to be successful or hire someone to do it for you. If you use your own software, you must decide on one (1) keyword for your page. Remember your good keyword is somewhere between the top and bottom middle). Next choose several other keywords that are lower than your main keyword. I call them general keywords. You will use all the keywords in your web content, using the main keyword more often. DO NOT overuse them the engines will call it spamming and could ban your site.

I cannot cover everything in this short time. There is more for you to learn at this point. Giving everything at one time would just confuse you. I will cover more on keywords in my web content page. Be sure to download the Firefox with Google Toolbar located on the right of the page. It is free and you are going to need it.
